Lucy Botting
I began my nursing career in 1985 in Guildford, completing at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. I then went on to become a district nursing sister (community teacher and prescriber) for a dynamic GP fund holding practice in Belfast.
Whilst there I undertook my Nurse Practitioner degree with associated university tutor post graduate diploma.
In 1999, I moved into management working as a community manager for adult services in a rural locality in Northern Ireland. It was here that I began to focus more specifically on service redesign, change management and staff development. I was here for 2 years and then moved to Wandsworth London, Bracknell, and Berkshire before finally moving to West Sussex as Associate Director of Modernization and Business Development in 2006.
Redesign work includes the development of virtual wards, overnight nurse practitioner service, walk in centre redesign and workforce aligned to competency development.
Since May 2009 I have also been working for the Department of Health on the Transforming Community Service Programme: my remit is provider development - people development: projects include spread and adoption, which includes TCS clinical reference guides, clinical leadership development, board development and organizational productivity
